Twitter widget with conversations

As you may have noticed, we just updated the Twitter widget. This time, we went for incremental improvements to make your daily use of twitter more enjoyable.

Here’s a short list of what’s new:

  • Global redesign
    • the header now matches the facebook widget
    • tweets are displayed as bubbles
    • your tweets are emphasized with by putting your avatar on the opposite side
    • the widget is globally more compact
  • Conversations: you can now see which tweets a reply is referring to. Simply click on “in reply to username” to expand the conversation.

  • Real names: usernames can now be replaced by the real names of your contacts
  • Message soft limit: messages are no longer truncated when reaching the 140 characters limit. The counter will just show that your message is too long so you can shorten it by yourself

We also fixed some of the bugs you reported to us and made the widget refresh more often, among other things. Let us know what you think by sending us an e-mail or by sending a message to @netvibes!

    Great update but support for the new Twitter lists would be a super awesome addition!!

    EG: A way to only show a list – maybe the username field should except list usernames??

    i think this update is even worsen this application that already reasonable good, the avatar and bubbles now mess up, some are displaying ok, some are getting too close to the avatar and display at the wrong side.not mentioned it STILL do not have the refresh time setting.

    Sometime i do wondering did Netvibes think carefully when updating your application?? Facebook last time we always use, but end up updated a mess version that draw all the update included some that we cannot hide or remove to our screen, end up we have to remove it, now is this Twitter again?? i will rather go back to the old version, as what important didn’t put but what is not so important put inside but mess everything up.

    the refresh time setting is so important, because each time when we on this Netvibes with Twitter, it will check for update every min will cost trouble to our connection sometime or end up “loading error” msg, the question remain is, do WE need such refresh time of every min to know what our friend up to??

    hope someone will fix it soon, or else after Facebook, this will be another official nice application from Netvibes that i have to remove…then your page will be MUCH less fun without Twitter.

    PBA tickets were in high demand, especially if it were a championship match. We do not worry if we attract trouble just to sell our tickets in hand. It was stupid when I smile right now! In addition, as we endure difficult for tickets to our favorite basketball games

    Thank you so much for that widget. So, no more need for me to use a separate software like Tweetdeck. I can do all my work from my webbrowser now- and 90% ist done vie netvibes ;-)
