Over 500 Netvibes Universes Released


We’re proud to announce our milestone release of more than 500 Netvibes Universes, specialized pages that provide themed content for brands, media, artists, non-profits, and more.

With Netvibes Universes, you can:

We’ve also revamped the Universes section of the Netvibes ecosystem complete with colorful thumbnails and a flashy new slideshow. In addition, you can now find Universes more easily via categories.

    @K:

    You can create a new tab then add either of these to that tab and then for the URL put in the URL of the universe.

    its a pity it seems that a lot of the universes are crap copies. I mean take a look at these ones:

    They are all the same apart from one page with a frameset.

    Either some one is scamming netvibes or its a VERY poor effort in order to get to 500 universes.

    There are a bunch of loyal dedicated netvibes users who could have put together much better efforts in 10 minutes I reckon!

    You can copy the contents of a universe over to your own page, as new tabs. (Without the design though.)

    On a universe open the dropdown menu of a tab. Choose "Send this tab to my private page".

    If you want to copy all of the universes tabs at once, do this: Open the sidebar, click on the universe tab of the sidebar (blue icon). Choose "Copy all content to my private page".

    Renaming the tabs afterwards might be a good idea, too.

    The UWA widgets are supported on the Iphone, but it’s a particular platform and for example there is some issues with iframes and Flash is not supported.

    UWA widgets are rendered through an iframe (like in Netvibes) but the ugly scrollbars that you can see on your regular browser will be nicely handled automatically by the Iphone browser.

    You can’t edit preferences yet (it’s read only).

    when I read an actual feed item – I want to be able to go back to ‘all tabs’ – so it’s simply adding a link to m.netvibes.com/tabs on all pages – both at the top and the bottom of each page
