    That is awesome. I love that you guys are adding updates. There’s almost a community feel to this homepage site, more than the google or msn or yahoo ones.

    Netvibes e google reader

    Eu sei que ja postaram sobre isso aqui, mas ou fã de rss e vibro com cada novidade. Seguem abaixo as minhas primeiras impressões sobre o google reader. O mais importante: suporte OPML. Nesta briga de readers online, quem ganha…

    thank you. you know, i thought, it would be great to have an opml export so i could try out google reader…but netvibes is vastly superior to google reader, i have no desire to move over. and yes now is the time for you guys to code like hell. if you guys can get support for the features you have in this list, you will rock, you will have something worth paying for. people are talking about you, and only now is real.

    2 of my ego feeds have an error when I enter it in Netvibes:

    BLOGPULSE
    http://www.blogpulse.com/rss?que...

    FEEDSTER
    feedster.com/links.php?ur…

    by the way, this is a great virtual desktop, you really seem to have a community feel…especially getting together with other services like Writely…great stuff!

    this feature doesn’t seem to work – i’ve got error in xml.

    It’s written that error in text comment – one of my feeds named in russian.

    for an export -> import to google reader, you need to delete the first outline tag ie : <outline title="Info" icon="http://www.netvibes.com/img/icon...
    and one of the 2 </outline> at the end of file

    I’ve moved to Google Reader, simply because I’m sick of Netvibes a) being down so freaking often, or being extremely slow, and b) half the feeds I want to add are perfectly valid feeds that load fine in Firefox’s reader or in Google’s read, but they don’t validate in Netvibes. Screw that for a headache I don’t need.

    Hi, how as it is made when they want to export a valid file OPML and that NetVibes answers that " humph, something badly took place with your file, it seems that it is not a valid file OPML.

  21. #21 | Stephan | November 28th, 2006 at 10:23

    I’m absolute unable to import an netvibes-exported opml file into another feed reader.

    Somehow the opml from netvies looks not valid.

    Perhaps i find a solution.

  22. #22 | Stephan | November 28th, 2006 at 10:53

    Okay… i found the solution. There is one <outline></outline> tag hierarchie to much.

    A note for the following examples. The underscores "_" are there for better visualisation of the depth.

    It has to be like this:
    <body>
    <outline text="Test">
    ____<outline text="screenshine" title="screenshine" xmlUrl="http://www.screenshine.net/d/log... htmlUrl="http://www.screenshine.net/d/log... type="rss"></outline>
    </outline>
    <outline text="Test2">
    ____<outline text="Umgebungsgedanken" title="Umgebungsgedanken" xmlUrl="umgebungsgedanken.momocat… htmlUrl="umgebungsgedanken.momocat… type="rss"></outline>
    </outline>
    </body>

    But netvibes produces something like this:

    <body>
    <outline> [THIS IS THE PROBLEM]
    ____<outline title="General" text="General" icon="http://www.netvibes.com/img/icon...
    ____ ____<outline type="rss" title="DIE ZEIT: Deutschland" text="DIE ZEIT: Deutschland" xmlUrl="newsfeed.zeit.de/deutschl… htmlUrl="http://www.zeit.de/Deutschland/i... />
    ____</outline>
    </outline> [THIS IS THE PROBLEM]
    <outline> [THIS IS THE PROBLEM]
    ____<outline title="Fortschritt" text="Fortschritt" icon="http://www.netvibes.com/img/icon...
    ____ ____<outline type="rss" title="SOA Blog" text="SOA Blog" xmlUrl="http://www.explore-soa.de/soa/de... htmlUrl="http://www.exploresoa.de/soa/de/... />
    ____</outline>
    </outline> [THIS IS THE PROBLEM]
    </body>

    I marked the problem. It’s the empty top <outline> tag.

    Hopefully this helps.
