Netvibes introduces a Podcast Digital Life Assistant and updates the Video one
With Cinnamon release, we introduced modules dedicated to search – your “Digital Life Assistants”. These modules allow to search the web on several search engines simultaneously in a convenient way.

Today, we are completing the list of search modules with a new Podcast Search module. This DLA allows you to search episodes on iTunes, Odeo, Pluggd and Podemus at the same time. Thanks to our partners you can also listen to the podcasts with our tiny player or download them.
The Video Search also got some attention. It now includes MySpace Videos and you are now able to watch the video while switching results tabs or performing new searches. A fullscreen mode is also available so you can enjoy those videos directly inside netvibes.

The full screen mode on Video Search is brilliant, the Podcast Search rocks… I just wish it was possible to watch video podcasts.

Inbal> Thanks for the comment. At this time the play button is disabled for video podcasts (and also for audio files which are not mp3) because Flash is not able to play them.
But if you click on "Download" you can still open the file in a new tab directly in your browser and if you have the right codecs you can watch it.
But we will see if it can be possible to have a better integration in a next version…

Wally> Glad that you love the new features
For the gifs, it’s better to save them on your computer and then upload them on your blog. Thanks for the excellent tutorial!

Very nice, thanks!
I regret that searching videos in Russian (without transliteration) seems impossible: letters seem to read OK, but the results are just in Russian, with no word matching.
Are you experiencing difficulties with Unicode?
I will come back to see if you have answered, but in any case: thanks once again

i have tried them on different computers in opera, firefox and internet explorer, maybe it’s because i am behind a firewall?

Hi,
Great job for the itunes podcast search module.
How did you manage to query the itunes podcast directory ?
I thought that communications between itunes client and the store was crypted.
Did you sign an agreement with Apple for that?
Thanks,
Nicolas
