Netvibes introduces a digital life assistant for images search
With our latest release, new modules have been launched for searching in web pages, video, blogs and Netvibes ecosystem. Today, we are happy to extend the search field to images with a new digital life assistant. This new module allows you to simultaneously look for pictures with the most popular search engines, including Flickr, Google, Zooomr and Yahoo!.

Just like web search and blog search, this module offers two different modes: a normal mode and a detailed mode. The first one is similar to the thumbnail mode of the flickr module. The latter shows some extra information like picture dimensions (google and yahoo!) or tags (flickr and zooomr). Having tags is nifty, because you can click them to search more related images. As usual, there are some more features but let’s add this module to your Netvibes page and give it a try.

Great new addition!
I am missing the "next" option for Flickr and Google, can only go to the site for more search results.
And currently I’m being directed to google.fr instead of .com.

ok it’s great – I don’t find it so useful but that’s ok, I belive a lot of people will enjoy that.
However can you add the "erase search" function of this module to the new web search module? this is really useful

Dexter> This is because Flickr and Google do only provide a maximum of 20 pictures in their feed.
alex> we thought that even without a label you guys would like to click on that checkbox to see what it can do
Jean> Yes, we will do this… We find it very useful too.
kenzo> I don’t know if you saw it in the sidebar but we now have a french blog where all the french people can meet.

I’d like to see specified searches by file name, author (mainly those two), tag, location, or date, but I don’t know how much of that information is available on each image service.
Also, to predefine whether images should open individualy or in their original context, especially when all services but Flickr extract images from webpages.

Hello, nice module. But when I click on tabs, it scrolls on top of page! (bug?).
My suggestion: I very like a small star icon in the corner of pictures to make them my favourites like pageflakes. Could you add that nice feature? Thanks.

Hi, I’m using firefox 2 on a mac, whenever I click on the link to add this module to netvibes, from the bottom of this page, it takes me to my netvibes home page, but nothing is added…. I also can’t find the module on the ecosystem, am I being blind? Thanks.

question: I’m looking for a module that shows news images of the day. Any module suggestions? I see one where 100 or less photos are shown, but the images are small. I’d like to have that on my "news" page.
