    Working now :)

  2. #2 | Benjamin | April 14th, 2006 at 14:09

    I am using a Google Calendar feed with german umlaute (ä, ö, ü) which do not show up correctly. "Existenzgründung" is shown as "Existenzgrn00640075006e0067" – could you check that out ?

  3. #3 | Keith Peters | April 14th, 2006 at 14:19

    Awesome. I notice the times are still off for me. Doesn’t matter what I set my timezone in Google, the times shown in iCal module are 4 hours later.

  4. #4 | Fisch2 | April 14th, 2006 at 14:22

    This is awesome!

  5. #5 | Vacnor | April 14th, 2006 at 14:33

    great ! i love you’re work !

  6. #6 | Cyril | April 14th, 2006 at 15:03

    Somoene can help me ? Can you give the URL to put in the Ical module (my Gmail email is : cyril.charlier[@]gmail[.]com)

  7. #7 | Vraylle | April 14th, 2006 at 15:06

    Same as #3 here, except all times are five hours off. The actual file is correct.

  8. #8 | Cyrus | April 14th, 2006 at 15:07

    Doesn’t have exact same functionality as the 30boxes iCal implementation. I can’t click on a Google Cal event and have it open the GoogleCal in a new window, while with 30boxes you can. Just being your friendly debugger. :) Anyways, keep up the great work!

  9. #9 | Rod C | April 14th, 2006 at 15:07

    #6 – Cyril – You need to follow instructions on Google Calendar to obtain you’re specific URL – http://www.google.com/support/ca...

  10. #10 | stryknin | April 14th, 2006 at 15:11

    Great ! But what is the URL to indicate to get my Google Calendar in Netvibes ?
    Thanks for your help

  11. #11 | Rod C | April 14th, 2006 at 15:30

    Time error on calendar items appears to be associated with showing the UTC/GMT time for the event, without translating to local time-zone for the user.

  12. #12 | Rod C | April 14th, 2006 at 15:33

    #10 – Unsure of Q. – Guessing you’re asking how to get GCal into Netvibes.. if so use ADD CONTENT & add ICAL Viewer module.

  13. #13 | Dex | April 14th, 2006 at 15:35

    Says "no future events" found… hmm…

  14. #14 | perspikace (Nicolas Gosset | April 14th, 2006 at 15:37

    I’m french and i also have problem with special characters.

    + Problem with Time Zone…

  15. #15 | Tomaž | April 14th, 2006 at 15:40

    Small bug:
    east european unicode characters (Š = Sˇ etc) don’t show up.

  16. #16 | Bob Rowlands | April 14th, 2006 at 15:47

    Would it be possible to ask for the local time zone, or otherwise detect the local time zone? Without having the correct time on the calendar, it’s not very useful.

  17. #17 | Gtox | April 14th, 2006 at 15:54

    I’m agreeing with #16

  18. #18 | bittercrash | April 14th, 2006 at 16:01

    I have the same time zone problem (I’m in Belgium)

  19. #19 | More events | April 14th, 2006 at 16:04

    I’d like to be able to see more than one event/calendar entry at a time. Otherwise, this is useless.

  20. #20 | Rod C | April 14th, 2006 at 16:11

    #19 – Check Nb Events: setting under EDIT. – Even if set to say 10, change to another # od events to view, I have found it tends to ‘stick’.

  21. #21 | Motivr | April 14th, 2006 at 16:14

    I agree with the comments above. A way to set time zone offset or auto detection will be awesome.

  22. #22 | Thomas S. | April 14th, 2006 at 16:25

    It works wonders here!

  23. #23 | Orion | April 14th, 2006 at 16:28

    These ä’s and ö’s don’t work and the time zone has a problem

  24. #24 | Emilio O | April 14th, 2006 at 16:38

    Hi!

    I’m using netvibes from Mexico, I have the same local time offset problem. Probably having some way to select the local timezone on the iCal problem would solve it. Thanks.

  25. #25 | softeye | April 14th, 2006 at 16:45

    awsome, netvibes you’re rocking big time.
    can’t have a web without netvibes

  26. #26 | snau | April 14th, 2006 at 17:04

    Like #13 I have the "no future events found" problem. Any idea?

  27. #27 | mike arauz | April 14th, 2006 at 17:42

    are there plans to support 30Boxes?

  28. #28 | Sinaptik | April 14th, 2006 at 19:26

    To #27 : It’s actually the case.

  29. #29 | Peter | April 14th, 2006 at 19:51

    have checked all, but there is only the message:
    no No future events found.

  30. #30 | Peter | April 14th, 2006 at 20:16

    I set the Calendar to 24h and also the Date to DD/MM/YY
    and did the same with netvibes ical. now it works. great!

  31. #31 | Tibus | April 14th, 2006 at 20:34

    Réaction rapide encore merci !!!

    MAIS visiblement les caractères accentués ne passent pas :-(

  32. #32 | Olga | April 14th, 2006 at 22:37

    +1 to the #16′s request.
    tried different date and time settings, tried both xml as my feed and ical-link to add to ical module of netvibes – getting 2 hours earlier times (local time zone is gmt+1, denmark)..

  33. #33 | Cyril | April 14th, 2006 at 23:46

    TO:Rod C
    Thanks for the help : now that work unless one thine "é" and "è" donét work..

  34. #34 | Jim W | April 15th, 2006 at 02:39

    #13 "no future events" problem: In your GCal settings at the bottom of the "Calendar Details" page, click "Reset Private URLs". Takes a few minutes to reset. This worked for me.

  35. #35 | Jay | April 15th, 2006 at 02:41

    it would be useful to be able to refresh the calendar! i made some updates on my google calendar, but ical module is still displaying the same thing since 2 hours

  36. #36 | G Swaim | April 15th, 2006 at 04:17

    I am also seeing the time shift issue.

    I also agree with others and think to make this a real useable module you need: the ability to click on an event and have the calendar open up, and the ability to refresh.

    Keep up the good work!

  37. #37 | Elder | April 15th, 2006 at 10:01

    +1 at #16 from italy too ^^
    @#32
    we’re not gmt+1 now, but gmt+2: it’s daylight saving time ;)

  44. #44 | Frederik | April 16th, 2006 at 01:10

    Strange,

    I have too calendars on google calendar. And I’ve put 2 iCal-boxes on my netvibes. One shows correct hours, and the other one is 2 hours earlier…

  45. #45 | FolkenDA | April 16th, 2006 at 01:31

    Netvibes Rocks !

  46. #46 | Philippe | April 16th, 2006 at 09:15

    Answer to Eric (#40)

    You need to put the "Private address", given by Google Calendar. This is a special URL provided by Google Calendar especially in order to show your calendar in another (web)app (like netvibes iCal module).

    To obtain it, follow the instructions given here:

    http://www.google.com/support/ca...

  47. #47 | Peter | April 16th, 2006 at 17:21

    Netvibes for president…

  48. #48 | Chris | April 16th, 2006 at 17:28

    I love this module. If you could sort out the scambled norwegian characters (ie. æøåÆØÅ) I’d probably love it even more! :)

  49. #49 | sthig | April 16th, 2006 at 23:42

    It’s been asked however I’ve not seen a sound solution for it yet, but here is my situation:

    I’ve set up a 30boxes account and a Google calendar account, I have been able to successfully put them on Netvibes with on trouble whatsoever. Thank you Netvibes!

    The problem I’m having, as it’s been addressed, is that when I update my calendar, it does not update on netvibes.com – I can go into the private part of the calender and reset the private url but then I have to enter that in again. 30boxes will not refresh either.

    Does anyone have a solution of how to get future events to come up on Netvibes from either 30boxes or Google Calendar?

    Thanks and thank you Netvibes,
    S

  50. #50 | Chris | April 17th, 2006 at 00:08

    Yes, I love it more! :) Thanks a lot!

  51. #51 | Ryan | April 17th, 2006 at 05:54

    My problem is that my Google calendar items are listed twice, a day later. For example, if I have a meeting on my calendar on Monday at 4:00, it will list it for Monday and Tuesday.

  52. #52 | Tim | April 17th, 2006 at 05:58

    This is great~!!
    But lots of language problems~
    And I love it!

  53. #53 | Luke | April 17th, 2006 at 10:46

    Time difference problem seems to have been solved, thanks

  54. #54 | Tibus | April 17th, 2006 at 12:19

    Problem with é,è, and so on seems to be fixed too !

    Thanks :)

  55. #55 | Tof | April 17th, 2006 at 13:19

    Ok ça fonctionne bien maintenant.

    En cas de problème il faut aller dans Calendar setting puis Reset Private URLs Ensuite ça marche impecable…et avec les accents… THANKS NETVIBES

  56. #56 | hensleyjh | April 17th, 2006 at 17:49

    iCal Feature Request
    I would love to be able to select a date range instead of a number of entries to display. Instead of 1-10 entries what about let me show all entries for a specified length of time 1day, 5days, 1week, 2weeks, etc.

    That would be awesome!

    Love Netvibes, thanks for all the new features!

  57. #57 | tacitdynamite | April 17th, 2006 at 21:59

    same time offset problem with gmail module – i’m at central time zone, and it translates everything into paris time zone.

  58. #58 | //jorge | April 17th, 2006 at 23:34

    I use airset and I also have the offset problem… but it used to work before.. so I think that between changes something messed up

  59. #59 | dinosaur | April 18th, 2006 at 01:22

    It would be nice if some netvibes representative could answer some of the questions asked…..

    My request would be that in some way when I click on an event or header for google calendar that would take me over to google calendar.

    I’m using firefox so i suppose it won’t be long before someone makes an extension for calendar….

  60. #60 | seb | April 18th, 2006 at 12:00

    Hi,

    Firstly, many thanks for netvibes !!!

    Secondly, about google calendar, when an event is modified in google Calendar, my netvibes ‘portlet’ isn’t updated. I imagine it’s normal today but in future, it will be possible ?
    And I agree with dinosaur about a direct link between Ical portlet and the google calendar event.

  61. #61 | Adria | April 18th, 2006 at 16:27

    I think that it’s not dinamic because if I want view the calendar in netvibes.com I have to reset the private url every time.

  62. #62 | Keith Peters | April 18th, 2006 at 19:39

    Somewhere in the netvibes faq or docs, it mentions that the ical module purposely does not update in real time. It’s on a 20 minute delay. Leave it alone for a while.

  63. #63 | Frederik | April 18th, 2006 at 23:46

  67. #67 | Patrick | April 19th, 2006 at 17:12

    I mean that there is a problem with the time because I have a shift between the time in Google Calendar and the same in Netvibes,
    A solution ?

  68. #68 | Tariq KRIM | April 19th, 2006 at 20:28

    Some users are experiencing feed issues, we believe this pb occured in the preview.netvibes.com beta version or with users that switched from the preview to the www version.

    In any case to repport a pb you should always use the feedback form at the bottom of the netvibes page. You should also precise in your feedback if you were a preview.netvibes.Com user.

    thanks

    still no help from the mods?

    Time zone problems are still there.

  72. #72 | SrGareth | April 22nd, 2006 at 03:47

    Love netvibes.com

    ICal w/ google seems to add some items and not others. The ones that do show up in netvibes are 1 day earlier than google.

    Deleted ICal for now. Will check back in a week but good stuff so far.

  73. #73 | Adam | April 22nd, 2006 at 20:38

    Yeah, all my times are 5 hours off

  74. #74 | Amit | April 22nd, 2006 at 21:23

    10x – long expected and worth the wait

    Hebrew charachters are problemtic as well – don’t show up at all. Although I checked with firefox calendar extension (that works well with hebrew) – same problem. So I think that the problem is actually at google, as they say that support for other languages is not full.

  75. #75 | Golgoth | April 23rd, 2006 at 01:54

    I put an event on the 31st of May in my Gmail Calendar but it appears on the 2nd of May…

    Anyone else having trouble with iCal viewer working with Google Calendar on IE? Works fine with firefox, but I recieve 403/No Response error on IE.

  94. #94 | db | May 4th, 2006 at 04:28

    my gCal appts are a day off as well. oddly, other iCal’s seem to work fine so i guess its specific to google calendar’s iCal formatting…

  95. #95 | db | May 4th, 2006 at 15:19

    looks like working now — that was quick!

    but i also noticed that under the Agenda view, it show 1 fewer events than selected. for example, if i select 4, it shows 3, if i select 2, it shows 1, etc.

  96. #96 | db | May 5th, 2006 at 02:09

    ok, looks like my previous post needs editing. it seems to be working in firefox on windows, but in firefox on linux (ubuntu) its still a day off in the Week view.

  97. #97 | woody | May 5th, 2006 at 18:01

  100. #100 | Avishai | May 8th, 2006 at 21:52

    the Hebrew entries in my google mail do not show via ical

  101. #101 | John | May 9th, 2006 at 04:09

    Time problem still exists for Google ical

  102. #102 | Greg | May 9th, 2006 at 18:12

    Great job, netvibes ! merci !
    It would be marvelous to be able to mix several private addresses into a single ical module. (Comment #99)

  103. #103 | Big Serving | May 9th, 2006 at 21:26

    Great stuff – now I can have a to-do list!

  104. #104 | Andrew | May 11th, 2006 at 14:41

    iCal Viewer has no support for national languages symbols – all info entered with non-latin alphabet is displayed with ???s. I have no idea if there is an iCal Viever bug or iCalendar protocol inconsistence, but without non-latin characters support the iCal Viewer remains a very limited tool.

  105. #105 | Samuel | May 15th, 2006 at 10:32

    Hallo, I try to import Gmail calender information in Ical. I’ve made every thing what Gmail said and get the private adresse to my .Ics file. I can open it in Korganizer, but every time I try to put it in netvibes for Ical it always says:
    "This ical is not valid or currently not responding"
    What should I do?

  106. #106 | Sam-too | May 15th, 2006 at 10:49

    Hello,

    I have the same problem Samuel has since yesterday. I have Reset Private URLs in Google Cal but doesn’t solve.
    Until then it worked ok, but recently with a strange shift of about one day forward for all my event…

    Thanx for the help ! and the great job you do for Netvibes ;)

  107. #107 | alex | May 15th, 2006 at 11:15

    105,106. As said before, please contact the support (via the feedback form) with an ical url, your timezone and a specific event that behaves wrong (explain what it should be and what it currently does).

  108. #108 | David | May 15th, 2006 at 14:57

    Nb events: blank

    Anyone else experiencing this problem? I’ve added the ical viewer (on a PC using both IE and Firefox, and using Ubuntu/Firefox) Each time giving a valid private Goole Calendar URL. Netvibes shows a blank Calendar and when I go to edit to choose the number of events to show, it’s blank. There are events on the calendar to view. Any ideas where I’m going wrong? (The calendar isn’t a calendar associated with the gmail address above, but a 2nd googlemail address that my girlfriend and I share)

  109. #109 | tnerual | May 18th, 2006 at 17:10

    Is the .htaccess protected ical files supported ?
    If not, will it be in a near future ?

  110. #110 | Richard | May 20th, 2006 at 18:19

    Have followed the instructions of getting my ical url from google calendar and am constantly getting…

    This ical is not valid or currently not responding

    Very sad :( otherwise…. netvibes is amazing!

    In response to my previous post (110), I entered a description and location to my calendar in google calendar options and now it works fine :) So happy!

    passed the 22 hours the events they are placed in another day, that badly, some way to fix it?

  113. #113 | Jovan | May 22nd, 2006 at 09:18

    Great addition Netvibes, but I’d sure like to be able to click through to my Google calendar. Also, do you have any plans to allow resizing of the individual ‘windows’?

    It doesn´t work with my Calendar: When I insert the correct ical-private-link in your ical-app, it says "This ical is not valid or currently not responding". Does anyone knows a solution?
    Except of that: Far the best start-page I´ve ever seen. Great work, man.

    My Google iCal feed is working, but it’s putting my events (all of them) a day behind. For example, if I place an event on Saturday in my GCal, it shows up as Friday on Netvibes…weird. Other than that, love the page – like google/ig on a workout plan!!

    PS – Like to be able to click events in the calendar

    >My Google iCal feed is working, but it’s putting my >events (all of them) a day behind.

    I confirm

    My problem is that sometimas, the iCal viewer shows me the events one day before than google calendar shows.
    ex. if I have a meeting for next saturday, the iCal shows the event for next friday.

  118. #118 | sluggo | June 6th, 2006 at 02:30

    This is totally useless – it’s a full day off…

  119. #119 | greenvi | June 7th, 2006 at 00:11

    When I see google calendar through agenda format of ical, all contents shown are past events. How can I control to see the future events?
    (Reloading didn’t work, "week" and "month" views have no problem)

  120. #120 | nvillou | June 18th, 2006 at 18:16

    Read through all the comments wihthout finding any clue on my one day-off problem.
    A nice searchable forum would be better

    It seems to be a good module BUT how can I reach the google calendar from my NetVives ?
    There is no direct link from my NetVibes ! no url or hyperlink from this module.
    Any idea please !
    Thanks

  122. #122 | Toub | June 22nd, 2006 at 17:10

    What about multi-ics support?

    I would like to be able to view all my calendars in a single view!

  123. #123 | tom | June 27th, 2006 at 13:01

    Time zone pb seems to be solved on windows.
    But some newlines replaced with <br /> or dont show at all.
    Past allday events should not appear.
    Great tool anyway

  124. #124 | lyn | June 27th, 2006 at 13:02

    100% agree with Toub

  125. #125 | Steve | July 2nd, 2006 at 11:21

    "This ical is not valid or currently not responding"

    :(

    Help, please?

  126. #126 | Andy | July 11th, 2006 at 18:03

    Doesn’t look like anyone has mentioned this, but my Agenda view starts with one from 6/11 (today is 7/11 – so this is a problem). I thought that this used to work correctly but is no longer does. Anyone else?

  127. #127 | Woo | July 15th, 2006 at 13:41

    I have the time shift problem, by several hoursw, on Windows in the UK on GMT (+1 for daylight saving) for events from upcoming.org so I think the problem is more likely to do with servers NOT using UTC on transmission.

  128. #128 | Hippalus | August 2nd, 2006 at 10:34

    Totally agree with Toub (#122) and lyn (#124). With more than one Calendar per module, with a different colours for each calender, this module would be much more useful.

    I would also like to use the module to add events to my Google calendar from Netvibes.

  129. #129 | Lphant | August 3rd, 2006 at 06:58

    I would like to have GTalk too.

  130. #130 | Guy Przytula | August 9th, 2006 at 08:18

    after install of ical module and adding the ical address, supplied by google calendar, still getting the message : the module has not been configured yet, press edit…
    Any idea ?
    Thanks for all info, Guy

    Woo, similar problem for me. Whilst I set the timezone for the google calendar – once I import ICAL values I get 8 hour timeshift! Not really ideal for public calendar…. are there any fixes other than going through manually to alter each event?

    i have 3 calendars on google calendar. how do i combine them all into 1 calendar on netvibes ?

  133. #133 | jcricket | December 19th, 2006 at 03:29

    Here’s a php script (taken from another netvibes blog post) for combining multiple calendars into one. Worked good for me, but I still have the "one day off" bug.

    ?php
    // ical_concat.php; written by Douglas Waldron 2006-11-28
    // Works with any iCal calendar, including Google Calendar
    // Add each calendar URL on a separate line:
    $ical[] = ‘url-goes-here’;
    $ical[] = ‘url2-goes-here’;
    header(‘Content-type: text/plain’);
    echo "BEGIN:VCALENDAR
    VERSION:2.0
    PRODID:-//DWW/ical_concat.php
    ";
    $i=0;
    while ($i<count($ical)) {
    $ical_contents = file($ical[$i++],0);
    $okay=0;
    foreach ($ical_contents as $ical_line) {
    if (!$okay)
    if ((strpos($ical_line,’BEGIN’) !== false) &&
    (strpos($ical_line,’BEGIN:VCALENDAR’) === false))
    $okay=1;
    if ($okay && strpos($ical_line,’END:VCALENDAR’) === false ) echo
    $ical_line;
    }
    }
    echo "END:VCALENDAR";
    ?>

    Very nice site! Good work.

  137. #137 | matthew | March 23rd, 2007 at 21:49

    jcricket, do you use this php for creating a new module, or did you somehow integrate it with the existing module?
