Netvibes announces the ebay module !
ebay users, you are going to love this app !
With this new module, you can follow the eBay items you’re interested in directly from netvibes. You can track your eBay buying, selling, messaging or launch your favorite searches in simple one click!
The module offer multiple views. It is very simple to use. You simply choose the one you want to display:
- Items you’re watching,
- Items you’re bidding on,
- Items you’re selling,
- Your favorites searches and favorite sellers,
- Your messages.
You can even configure multiple “My eBay” modules on your page to have more than one view in the same time!

To configure your “My eBay” module, you simply need:
- to be a registered eBay user,
- to sign in once to eBay and complete an authorization (that will be valid for 18 months).

Your authorization is needed because eBay requires your explicit consent before they will transfer any eBay transaction information to third parties.

Once you’ve have successfully completed the authorization, you simply have to enter your eBay user ID in the Edit part of the module and it should be done!

How exactly can I enable eBay for Netvibes? I don’t see anything like "Sign in if you would like to use Netvibes on eBay."

nice module!! but when i tried to type my username, it took me to this page. then I noticed Netvibes now has (buggy) keyboard shortcuts!
Great addition ..

GREAT!
When will you add *more* support for the external apps with the API?, Google has one official repository, Microsoft too… why not netvibes?
#5 | Nixouille | May 31st, 2006 at 21:45
Ebay module is a good feature but the security is so poor…
After authorization configured, anyone can track me ?
#6 | Dave | May 31st, 2006 at 21:46
I had the same username problem. I got around it by pasting it into the field, then all was well.

No, it’s like any other module (gmail, delicious…), you have to configure it on "your" page – so only you can see it.

Dommage.

Man, that is an excellent new addition. But please clean up the layout, all of the lines plus the eBay logo at the bottom just make a very spacy and untidy impression on me…
Feature wish: Bidding on items within the module!!

And another thing: Move the display mode setting (Watching/Selling etc.) into the module itself, I’m looking at different lists several times a day and going over Edit -> Change -> Close Edit every single time is just painful.

Are there problems with sign in?
Since the update I can’t sign in with my acount. The user and pass boxes aren’t displayed for me.
Anyone knows something about this?
Thanks

One final (I promise!) suggestion: Could you use the code from this script userscripts.org/scripts/s… to add pictures to the auctions without preview pic? Would take care of these empty placeholders in most cases…

#15 | Zeube | June 1st, 2006 at 10:35

This is really useful – slight bug with entering username but just copy + pasted it in to get around that. Many thanks Netvibes Team

Could anyone please send me a link that will allow me to authorize Netvibes to use eBay on eBay’s site? I am unable to find such an authorization request anywhere on ebay.com.
I am using Firefox on Fedora Core 4.

19: Add the eBay module and you will see a link in Netvibes to authorize with eBay.

holy cow this is a great module. i was just thinking it would be cool to add ebay to netvibes and lo and behold you guys have done it!
one suggestion: not sure if it’s by design or a bug, but you can only add one eBay account. I’d love to see both of my accounts as I use one mainly for selling and one mainly for buying. Many others have multiple accounts too so it should prove useful!
#29 | mojo_lo | June 17th, 2006 at 09:25
still love the module, but what kind of security are you guys implementing here? and if my account does get compromised, i suppose nobody is liable but myself as I granted authorization?
when companies such as ChoicePoint and CardSystems can be hacked for credit card info, it kinda makes me worry what could be done to the servers of a small startup… Are there now security experts at netvibes protecting users’ data?
don’t mean to rant, but I see nothing about security mentioned in the announcement…and I still love Netvibes btw!
