Important scheduled update: Netvibes introduces a new dimension: Multiple Personalized Pages

On May 27th, Netvibes will get a new dimension. Next Wednesday at 3AM UTC (Tuesday at 8PM in California), we are going to roll out a major update forcing us to a scheduled 4-hour downtime for the upgrade.

We have personal interests, we read feeds for work, we buy stuff online, we discuss with friends, we connect with colleagues, we plan vacations online, we support our local football team: our digital life is more complex than ever. To tackle this problem, we are about to a introduce a new feature that allows you to organize your content better: Multiple Personalized Pages.

Back in 2006, we introduced tabs, an industry first. Tabs were great for organizing our digital life. But today is different, we have to deal with multiple digital lives. With the new Multiple Personalized Pages, you will have as many private pages as you need, all managed with one account. Each digital life — home, work, family, and more — can now live on its own page, with its own theme, tabs and widgets. Let’s see how it’s gonna work.

The first noticeable change is the new “Pages” pulldown menu. It replaces the former “Go to my public pages” and gives you access to all your pages, both private and public. You can switch to any page in one click.

Use the Pages menu to switch to another page

At the bottom, there’s a special entry : “Manage my pages”. When you click on this link, it brings you to the Pages management section. From this section, you can:

  • create new pages
  • delete pages
  • reorder page
  • move and copy tabs from one page to another

This last functionality is especially handy for creating your public page. You can now build a tab in your private space then drag’n'drop it in your public page to publish it.

As mentioned above, all these features will be live on Wednesday but we wanted to announce the schedule maintenance and give you a sneak preview of the feature first.

Get ready for the Multiple Personalized Pages!

Why bother making this functionality, seems like those are just tabs but called pages now…

  2. #2 | Bertrand | May 25th, 2009 at 09:40

I guess you could think of them as being super-tabs.

But that’s really a great improvement i.e. that way you could have a page for personal life and another for work. And that’s not something you could do so far.

I know by experience that mixing personal and work information is messy. I was wondering about creating a second account for that matter. But thanks to Netvibes’s mind-readers, I won’t have to.

  3. #3 | Mark Daniel Martinez | May 25th, 2009 at 11:06

Put john and Webkatlog down for "missing the point".

  4. #4 | Jac | May 25th, 2009 at 11:29

Well done ! A nice way to reduce my too numerous tabs! keep going !

  5. #5 | socialnerdia | May 25th, 2009 at 11:33

    We’re really excited about this!!!

Check out Social Nerdia’s PREVIEW of the new Multiple Personalized Pages:

Very nice! Looking forward to this.

  7. #7 | Jaknet | May 25th, 2009 at 13:44

This will be on one good way to try out new themes without losing your custom page settings

  8. #8 | Jojaye | May 25th, 2009 at 14:46

I hope you are not going to lock me out of my pages again by invalidating my email like happened after the last scheduled maintain! Seems like an un- needed, unasked for "Upgrade". Why move page management to the bottom? Was it broken where it is? Some page stuff on top – some on the bottom – if you add some really worthless side tabs, waste space & then re arrange my page for me you’ll be just like google! (out of my life)
Thanks for the warning -its appreciated.
Change for the sake of change, is rarely ever good.

  9. #9 | Maurice | May 25th, 2009 at 15:40

    Dear Jojaye,

the post may have been unclear: we are not replacing tabs with pages. Your page will remain the same (except the page menu): horizontal tabs with widgets. What we’re adding, is the possibility to create more than one private page underneath an account.

Our system administrators will pay extra attention to user accounts to make sure there is no data loss. In case you can’t access your account after the upgrade, please contact the support at this URL: http://www.netvibes.com/static.p... We will do our best to solve your problem.

  10. #10 | Dave | May 25th, 2009 at 15:50

I think this will be useful- thank you. My biggest wishlist item, however, would be some more creative themes. 95% of the existing themes are just variations of the same basic cookie-cutter theme, with different colors and a different image.

  11. #11 | SoulteS | May 25th, 2009 at 17:28

    Great Idea!

    It’s excellent replacement for sub-tabs.

  12. #12 | Minerva | May 25th, 2009 at 18:45

Will you ever offer private shared pages? I would move my work pages from Pageflakes if you did.

  13. #13 | Failhurr | May 25th, 2009 at 19:22

Oh wow. Netvibes looks more and more like PROTOPAGE.COM.

  14. #14 | JetLag | May 25th, 2009 at 19:28

Netvibes reinvents the Personalized Pages! again! Can’t wait to have a page for every thing I want to follow, work stuff, baseball, NFL, NBA, etc…

From the article on SocialNerdia, no need to have all of them into a single page, stuffed with gazillions of tabs and a theme for everything.

    again, can’t wait.

  15. #15 | Kinman | May 26th, 2009 at 01:00

Thank you! I’m always impressed with your updates. Netvibes.com has been my homepage for years now. I go explore the others to see what they offer, but so far have always end up back.

PS: Kudos to your Lab! The Theme generator is very nice. This type of stuff is what keeps me coming back.

Here is an idea… also in reference to Dave’s post on customized themes; Have a site (universe) where users can post themes that others can apply. That might spur the creativity of the netvibe community. I would definitely post.

  16. #16 | Freddy Mini | May 26th, 2009 at 02:41

    Thanks for your post Kinman.

+@dave re: Themes… great idea. Stay tuned :)

  17. #17 | André Pasti | May 26th, 2009 at 18:01

Congratulations, Netvibes team! Great idea! :)

  18. #18 | Kunzite | May 26th, 2009 at 19:33

Hey..Would this allow us to create multiple public pages too?. That would be great if we can create multiple public pages or views for that matter.

  19. #19 | Quentin Dietz | May 27th, 2009 at 04:46

It would be awesome if we could choose which page appears depending on what time/ day of the week it is or from what IP we are connecting

  20. #20 | Shammara | May 27th, 2009 at 04:48

keep it simple. everyone i know has switched to google reader because of how light it is, and it does what you need it to do.

  21. #21 | thenonhacker | May 27th, 2009 at 04:59

I will be glad if this means I can have
    MANY PUBLIC PAGES.

For PRIVATE Pages, this feature will be useless to me:

    – I used to have many tabs
    – I find myself paying more attention to the first tab.
    – I ended up placing all my favorite RSS feeds on the first tab.
    – And I don’t plan using PAGES for PRIVATE tabs.

  22. #22 | SpaceMonkeyX | May 27th, 2009 at 05:02

Oh, thank you, thank you, thank you! I currently have 3 Netvibes accounts for this exact reason – Work, Home, and Freelance Writing research. This is going to be a real life saver!

It’s this kind of thinking that has kept me a loyal Netviber for going on five years.

  23. #23 | Phil | May 27th, 2009 at 05:05

    Shammara,
Interesting, I switched from iGoogle to Netvibes years ago because of one feature… adjustable columns. Is there such a thing as keeping it too simple?

  24. #24 | seo | May 27th, 2009 at 05:16

great option! thank you guys for development! viva Netvibes!

  25. #25 | JT | May 27th, 2009 at 05:19

So now we can have multiple pages and each page can have multiple tabs? Is that pretty much it in a nutshell? Can each page have it’s own theme? I always wanted to be able to specify a different theme/color scheme for each tab. Currently I have a tab for work and a tab for home. I chose a more subtle theme for my work tab since it was always up on my computer at work. I wanted to be able to specify a more "lively" theme for my home tab but couldn’t because themes were not tab specific.

  26. #26 | Shammara | May 27th, 2009 at 05:20

    Phil, i think you’re a netvibes employee :) .

  27. #27 | Noland | May 27th, 2009 at 05:23

I cringed when I read "Here’s what you gonna get,,". Does Netvibes hire anyone who passed 3rd grade?

  28. #28 | Terry | May 27th, 2009 at 05:29

This makes sense for those using pages for home/work/school, but for most of us it probably wont be used.

  29. #29 | kaijuu | May 27th, 2009 at 05:30

BUT… can we have multiple PUBLIC pages? I know I use my public page for my classroom, but I would like to have one for my not-work life as well. right now, that is my private page, but that means I can’t share it with my friends.

  30. #30 | Magno thompson | May 27th, 2009 at 05:36

Great !!! Look at my page and see how much i need this because i mix work with fun for example… my Safari Bookmaks are created in distincts categories. Netvibes becoming better than ever! Congratulatios.

    :O)
    Magno

  31. #31 | Adam Schuttler | May 27th, 2009 at 05:42

    completely irrelevant "upgrade"

this is just a parallel shift

    waste of time and money

  32. #32 | Kevin S. | May 27th, 2009 at 05:48

This is awesome! Can’t wait! Agree about a public user theme repository.

Btw, when is the iPhone app coming out again? :)

  33. #33 | alistair Nicholson (@wraptinweb) | May 27th, 2009 at 05:53

I’ve been a dedicated netvibes user for several years so I’m thrilled. Perhaps it isn’t for everyone, but I am definitely sharing the news with my community. iGoogle has strengths too, but netvibes is my home page. I have ‘control panels’ set up for socmed, email and reference. Heavy users are growing out the top and this is timely and welcome.

I picked up on ‘gonna’ too, but it is part of a site ‘personality’ that reflects informal, accessible and friendly while taking the business of reliability seriously enough to make this where I drive some of my business and home life from.

    Netvibes, thankyou.

  34. #34 | SHAUN | May 27th, 2009 at 05:55

i WOULD LIKE TO SEE A BETTER SELECTION OF GADJETS TO CHOSE FROM, I.E. BIRTHDAY REMINDER,CALENDER WITH DAILY REMINDERS

  35. #35 | Pedro Moral | May 27th, 2009 at 06:04

Supertabs is needed when you have 30 tabs, let’s see if this can handle the problem.

It’s good to see improvements in netvibes!

  36. #36 | Sherylyn | May 27th, 2009 at 06:13

Can’t wait as long as all goes well, :o D I switched to Netvibes from igoogle when they (google) rolled out their sidebar fiasco and have come to truly love what I have here!

  37. #37 | Jimmy James | May 27th, 2009 at 06:24

This is great. As a guy with like 4 rows of tabs, it’s a great feature to allow breaking them up!

  38. #38 | Phil | May 27th, 2009 at 06:49

    Shammara, :P

  39. #39 | Sarah | May 27th, 2009 at 06:55

I agree with those asking for public pages. Right now my private page is linked to a public page that serves as a portal for an entire school library. I would love to add more public pages to that portal instead of more tabs.

Also, please be careful with its/it’s. In the write-up above it states "each page will have it’s own theme…" This is not correct; it should be "its own theme" Thanks.

  40. #40 | Catcall | May 27th, 2009 at 06:56

    Thank you for this, guys.

I had not realized how much I look forward to starting my day with Netvibes until this morning — when it wasn’t there ;)

  41. #41 | D@vid | May 27th, 2009 at 06:58

The update seem promising, but please adjust the twitter one, it cannot update every min, it pull our internet connection or sometime stuck it…but thanks for the update, as Netvibes is the only site that i let it on all the time :)

  42. #42 | Marc | May 27th, 2009 at 07:00

    Feature request:
Multiple tabs with a page menus per tab ;)

  43. #43 | Lisa | May 27th, 2009 at 07:04

I must be old or something because "Here’s what you gonna get…" and then "Let’s see how it’s gonna work" is not friendly and accessible all. It just sounds stupid.

Love Netvibes and I preach and teach about feeds all the time – but I really think that you could lose the cool lingo since it actually may alienate anyone over the age of 30.

Then again, that be cool by me cause I’m gonna use it anyway.

    Word up!

  44. #44 | Atwelk | May 27th, 2009 at 07:22

Cool! My tabs have been steadily growing and cover nearly a quarter of my page, keep up the good work and ignore all the whinging and whining. If you don’t need the new feature don’t use it.

  45. #45 | Bigod | May 27th, 2009 at 07:24

Great idea. Looking forward to this.

  46. #46 | Koos Reyneke | May 27th, 2009 at 07:30

    Totallt unwanted and un-asked for
Waisting my time and intruding in my computer
I do not even want your webpage. It appeared totally unasked for

  47. #47 | Allogarage | May 27th, 2009 at 07:33

Great work! It will be esaier to share differents things (sports, hightech) with a dedicated and customized page for each.

  48. #48 | paul | May 27th, 2009 at 07:35

ummm.. so why is it like… 387% complete?

  49. #49 | RadikalQ3 | May 27th, 2009 at 07:37

    I’m tired of your upgrades…

Other day with my subscriptions hijacked… sic

  50. #50 | Gavin | May 27th, 2009 at 07:49

Looks like you have a majority in favour so you must be doing something right. To Koos, take it off as your home page – these do not come uninvited. To those that are complaining – am I getting something for free that you pay for? Sometimes you have to take what others want but you don’t have to use it. Some people complain for the sake of being heard.

  51. #51 | hortensia | May 27th, 2009 at 07:54

I am tired. I will move to another widget portal. The update is too long and I cannot go to my netvibes. It sucks.

  52. #52 | RJ | May 27th, 2009 at 07:58

This upgrade takes hell lot of time !!!

  53. #53 | RadikalQ3 | May 27th, 2009 at 07:58

    Other day without service… sic.

I’m moving my feeds to (any) other.
    Bye.

  54. #54 | Friar Tuck | May 27th, 2009 at 08:00

I can’t wait to see the new upgrade. I hope it is as good as it sounds.

  55. #55 | Mahmood Mirza | May 27th, 2009 at 08:04

About time – thanks! I love Netvibes, have been using it for a while now – but it’s a pain having to reorder tabs and to try and limit tabs to a single row. Grouping tabs by category/page should make the user experience so much better. Hope the new feature is easy to use!

  56. #56 | Thierry Olive | May 27th, 2009 at 08:09

Nice stuff, but like many other people, I really definetely need more than one public page.

  57. #57 | Kiki | May 27th, 2009 at 08:11

Really! Who needs this? I organized my page into tabs, I don’t need pages in addition.

So now I sit here and wait for the update to happen before I can read my business feeds :-(

  58. #58 | Mike | May 27th, 2009 at 08:22

Finally I’ll be able to switch from a personal to a work-dedicated page, depending on the time and the place. Nice and more safe for work :)

  59. #59 | natacha | May 27th, 2009 at 08:23

Thanks! that a great step and I take the opportunity to thank you for Netvibes, it’s really practical!

Merci, j’adore netvibes et ce nouveau système semble très intéressant!

    Danke schön, sie sind toll!

  60. #60 | lithium | May 27th, 2009 at 08:25

Seems to me like the feature I was missing all the time…

  61. #61 | François | May 27th, 2009 at 08:32

Great idea, especially if a specific login can be set up for a specific page… I’ll see that with great interest !

  62. #62 | Jade | May 27th, 2009 at 08:32

Yey, lets make it more bloated!

Just remove the tabs then or make an op to have them removed and give use that extra space at the top thats now wasted by no title and tab headers..

  63. #63 | steslock | May 27th, 2009 at 08:37

I think it sounds kind of cool, but not really sure I get the point.. I mean whats the difference between new pages and just different tabs??

In addition, I think I am phasing out netvibes from using it to keep track of my personal business such as calendars, to do lists, and finances because it has lost much data and I never know when something will not be saved or will dissapear even after it has been saved. If my info seemed more secure, I would use netvibes religiously!!

  64. #64 | John | May 27th, 2009 at 08:41

So, after 4+ hours, I now have an empty white homepage. Nothing, zip, empty.!!!
The same applies on the other computers as well….

  65. #65 | Othmar | May 27th, 2009 at 08:43

The same for me. White page with nothing… :(

  66. #66 | apa | May 27th, 2009 at 08:43

Now the counter is at 104 % :D

  67. #67 | Othmar | May 27th, 2009 at 08:44

    No, sorry. Now it’s 104% :)
    Still waiting…

  68. #68 | jacky | May 27th, 2009 at 08:45

    The progress is currently 104 % … amazing !

  69. #69 | batterscher | May 27th, 2009 at 08:47

    Yeah, "105%" progress! -> evidence: yfrog.com/14105gp

…I guess we are getting more than you told us… ;-)

  70. #70 | Danny Cohen | May 27th, 2009 at 08:48

I wait fore the new features.
My home page is Netvibes, I like using it, I can see all my mailbox i one tab, photos in another tab, rss, etc.

I can open this page in some browsers : IE8, Firefox, Chrome (it dosen’t work good in IE7 & IE6).

  71. #71 | John | May 27th, 2009 at 08:50

The servers are restarting….. Fingers are crossed :)

  72. #72 | Mapou | May 27th, 2009 at 08:51

I think is very interesting. I´m sure I´ll enjoy it. Thanks a lot from Galicia.

  75. #75 | batterscher | May 27th, 2009 at 08:52

  77. #77 | René | May 27th, 2009 at 08:56

Looking forward to see the new feauture!
Netvibes is indeed an excellent service – keep up the good work, guys:)

  78. #78 | Hubert | May 27th, 2009 at 08:59

    Congrats to the team,
    rock’n roll guys ;-)
You are my favorite californian start-up ;-)

  79. #79 | oldfartingskunk | May 27th, 2009 at 09:03

Is it REALLY necessary to constantly revamp what is already awesome? Do we REALLY need more colorful interface options (really, are we two years old?) ? Can’t you guys just leave this shi–t be?

  80. #80 | Ddx | May 27th, 2009 at 09:09

104% and counting, hope if finished soon….

  81. #81 | Frank Rosendahl | May 27th, 2009 at 09:11

Congrats – this is awesome! I’ve been a user for several years now – managing both my digital work life and personal life through the netvibes-portal. This upgrade is really useful for me.

Keep it coming – good work, guys!

  82. #82 | John | May 27th, 2009 at 09:11

    Blank white page again!!!!

  83. #83 | Chewee | May 27th, 2009 at 09:11

How can you congrat this update if you have not seen this new release ? Are you L…… ?
I remember you it is still not working..

  84. #84 | Nicolas Combelles | May 27th, 2009 at 09:16

    Great idea as always !

@Noland, Linda: Be comprehensive to non-native english speakers ;) .

    Feature idea:
What do you think of adding optional page-passwords (short ones allowed) ?

That could be handy for people that rarely log-off while shortly leaving their desk or shared computer (with colleagues, friends, or family around). You could then safely separate "work", "home", and "personal" content.

This could also be used to create shared accounts without a deep modification of NV architecture.

Of course multiplication of authentication systems is rarely a good thing (KISS). But I thought this idea was worth thinking about.

  85. #85 | vibez | May 27th, 2009 at 09:17

Down 3AM, eta 4HRS, would have been nice.
09:40AM an nothing, could you please post new ETA?

"Servers are now restarting…" Just does not have much meaning

  86. #86 | Dom | May 27th, 2009 at 09:19

    Wow, this feature rocks!

  87. #87 | whitetiger | May 27th, 2009 at 09:20

Netvibes – you are doing a wonderful job (usually). I don’t mind you adding other features – if I find them useful I will use them, if not then cheers to those that do. Just Please, Please, don’t muck around with the menus….. I’m still recovering from the mess that Microsoft made of Office – I have to use it every day in work, and I still forget where they have put simple things (like Print!! or Spellcheck!) from time to time…. If you do mess around with menus, then please just make them customisable so that we can each find our own necessary functions without tripping over the rest!?? Thanks

  88. #88 | Nata | May 27th, 2009 at 09:38

@netvibes I really appreciate the effort and the new features. But now that the upgrade is taking longer than expected and everyone is going crazy in twitter, I think you should be updating a little more than:
"105% … Taking longer than expected. Working on it :) "

but to inform us why or give us something like: upgrade will take x time more or less due to x.

Otherwise, for us it’s just a standard response like: we’ll be back shortly.

    Nata.

  89. #89 | Netaddict | May 27th, 2009 at 09:41

has anyone in the UK got their netvibes page up yet? I’m excited and want to get started, but it doesn’t seem to be happening yet.

  90. #90 | Martin | May 27th, 2009 at 09:50

I’d like to see something like "global tabs", or "share tab". Would be nice to be able to invite other users to share and edit the same tab, just within the group. For example me and my colleagues could share an "inspiration"-tab and everyone of us could add and view content in the same tab, but still have our private ones.

  91. #91 | MC Deli | May 27th, 2009 at 09:55

Oh dear – blank green page after one hour!

  92. #92 | Othmar | May 27th, 2009 at 10:21

It worked – but now it doesn’t anymore :(

I can only handle following 1 tab per day as it is! But it looks good to me, if I had more feeds to follow…

  94. #94 | Fry | May 27th, 2009 at 10:52

Thanks a lot for this great update !

    Can’t wait to try it.

  95. #95 | RadikalQ3 | May 27th, 2009 at 10:59

Strange way to destroy a site…

Please, release my hijacked subscriptions… I wanna go to other site ASAP

  96. #96 | Stimul8d | May 27th, 2009 at 11:01

Wasn’t sure at first but it now means i can drop my news reader and bring all my feeds back into netvibes now they’re not going to run into three rows of tabs! happy days

  97. #97 | Dave | May 27th, 2009 at 11:02

I can see the advantage of this, however as I actually have a life, I am able to keep my feeds down to one page :-)

    Thanks anyway

  98. #98 | John | May 27th, 2009 at 11:43

4 hours become 6 hours become 7 hours… I hope you guys pay overtime. Still not up in Aus

  99. #99 | Danny Cohen | May 27th, 2009 at 12:01

    Let’s be patient.
I am sure that we will get good page.

  100. #100 | M | May 27th, 2009 at 12:02

    Hi,

The feature sounds interesting. It’s no essential feature though.

I read many good suggestions here.

Some over-enthusiastic comments make me think that many comments were written by netvibes people. Especially because we didn’t see nothing yet.

I suggest you work on the feature itself instead of communication. Unless you can tell us when it’s going to be up and running.

    Thanks!

    M

  101. #101 | chat | May 27th, 2009 at 13:08

there was a good work i think.. thanks for all..

  102. #102 | crunchberries | May 27th, 2009 at 13:48

Hey Maurice, if the scheduled downtime is supposed to be at 8:00pm PST (5:00pm EST) today, May 27th, why is my page down as of 8:13am EST? Did you guys change the ETA of the update or did something go wrong?

  103. #103 | crunchberries | May 27th, 2009 at 13:52

Ah, shoot. Read it wrong, sorry!

That’ll teach me to be online before the first cup of morning coffee.

  104. #104 | Jojaye | May 27th, 2009 at 14:00

Still no nothing here- my homepage is gone & please do not blame me – where is my page!?! I just got it back after you guys took it hostage for 8 days the last time you did maint.

  105. #105 | Cybioz | May 27th, 2009 at 14:04

This new feature looked like a good idea at first, but I can’t access my page now. I just have my green background and the "add content" button. Nothing else since this morning.
I just hope it’s a delay due to… well, what do I know… and that I will find my page back in no time :)

(and the same way I left it yesterday, I know that’s a mess but please, don’t move anything inside ^^ :p )

  106. #106 | vibez | May 27th, 2009 at 14:09

    14:30PM 27/5 GMT+1 (@11,5hrs STIL DOWN)
Id sure appreciate a simple ROLLBACK …

Do this roll out as a opt in BETA plz.

  107. #107 | Philipp | May 27th, 2009 at 14:17

Same Problem as #105 (Cybioz) here: I’ve been waiting for hours and now my content seems gone. What a fuckin’ mess. Please repair that!

  108. #108 | lepetitnegre | May 27th, 2009 at 14:42

Now that I have multiple page how can i transfer my RSS feed from one page to another ? Otherwise I’ll end up doing some nasty copy/paste that I don’t wish to do. Is it possible to manage the feed from all our pages in one place ?

  109. #109 | Dublin City Public Libraries | May 27th, 2009 at 15:01

Our page is taking far too long to load at present, next to useless. Remember it the default page on all our library PCs so we are heavily dependent on it. Can Netvibes address this issue and advise as to when we can expect ’service as normal’?
    thanks,
    Eddie
    Dublin City Public Libraries, Ireland

  110. #110 | JW | May 27th, 2009 at 15:31

I have gone from my page does not load, to my page never finishes loading. Fix?

    Firefox 3 on Kubuntu 64-bit.

  111. #111 | Jojaye | May 27th, 2009 at 15:48

Well I’m not locked out- it loaded verrry slowly. It took quite a while but at least its there.

  112. #112 | md | May 27th, 2009 at 16:17

can’t add any new widgets to my page =(

  113. #113 | md | May 27th, 2009 at 16:31

    + i can’t access the account settings..

  114. #114 | Hurtcake | May 27th, 2009 at 16:32

I only get "Sorry, we are unable to connect you to Netvibes." Its been doing that for several hours now.

  115. #115 | mehmet | May 27th, 2009 at 16:43

Nice stuff, but like many other people, I really definetely need more than one public page.

  116. #116 | alim | May 27th, 2009 at 16:44

Thanks a lot for this great update.

  117. #117 | md | May 27th, 2009 at 17:09

whenever i want to add a new widget, i get a blank page

    ss-> i43.tinypic.com/14ya4ud.p…

  118. #118 | Ant | May 27th, 2009 at 18:02

hey, the web note background changed. now the background is a white image, which looks pretty terrible in my page, since I use the DarkVibes theme. Is there any way we can change the color of the bg? Otherwise I guess I’ll have to delete it, ugh.

  119. #119 | fraNcesco | May 27th, 2009 at 18:28

    Is it a downgrade?
Upgrade bookmarks section or delicious widget.
    That’s I need, since years.

  120. #120 | bob shegitz | May 27th, 2009 at 22:34

I, too, am only getting, "Sorry, we are unable to connect you to Netvibes" — but only when using Flock. It loads fine in Chrome. ????

  121. #121 | Michel | May 27th, 2009 at 22:35

I used to have four columns on my page. Since the upgrade I have two that look semi-normal, the third is below the second and the fourth is not even on the page.

I can live without netvibes for a day or two, but if it’s any longer, I’m afraid I’ll have to change my start page.

Best of luck in fixing this!

  122. #122 | kevser | May 27th, 2009 at 23:17

This upgrade takes hell lot of time…

  123. #123 | Ddx30 | May 28th, 2009 at 09:01

and now I can’t log in because my account has been deleted!!!! what a way to alienate users!!!!, clumpsy "upgrade", no information, blank pages, slow loading… is that to be an upgrade??? sounds to me like a serious downgrade… I want my account back!!

  124. #124 | Samy | May 28th, 2009 at 10:58

@Ddx30 did you contact our support team? send as much details as possible to http://www.netvibes.com/static.p... and we’ll see what’s gone wrong with your account
@Michel to fix your page, try to use these recovery urls is.gd/GZ0q then is.gd/GZ1v
@md should be fine now, do you still encouter the issue?
@Dublin City Public Libraries should be fixed now.

  125. #125 | MrGutts | May 28th, 2009 at 11:54

    @Samy

The fundamental problem is when you contact support it takes days for them to respond.

I am with Dxd. I can not log in, and it’s slow as all get out.

  126. #126 | md | May 28th, 2009 at 13:35

    @Samy

no, same issue.. i get the same blank page whenever i click the "add" button.. dunno.. maybe i’m doing smthing wrong =\

  127. #127 | md | May 28th, 2009 at 13:39

when i am on my personal page, after clicking the "add content" btton, i should be redirected to the "ecosysem" page? or i should get instantly the list of the widgets available, as on the general page while not being logged in?

  128. #128 | md | May 28th, 2009 at 13:41

+nothing happens when i press "pages"

shit.. i’ll try to make another account, maybe it’ll work

  129. #129 | Samy | May 28th, 2009 at 13:59

@md, ok, clear your browser cache with the instructions provided in the FAQ faq.netvibes.com/troubles… Once done, clear your cookies by pasting the link http://www.netvibes.com/?reset=1 into your browser’s address window. Tell me if it works.

  130. #130 | ElTchoupi | May 28th, 2009 at 14:07

    Hi !

Just to change from others: THANK YOU !
I have a life, but I also need to follow a lot of feeds: this new feature, makes it much much easier to sort things !
BUT (sorry, netvibes is not perfect…yet!) like some asked earlier, I could use more than one public page… will you at least…think about it ?

Once again: THANK YOU for this great tool !

  131. #131 | md | May 28th, 2009 at 14:14

    @Samy

i’ve done everything you wrote above.. no luck

made a new account.. everything works great.. that’s bizarre =\

is it possible to delete from the database the acc i already have, so that i can use that email one more time at the sign up? =))

  132. #132 | Samy | May 28th, 2009 at 14:39

@md no problem, just send your request here with mention of the email account http://www.netvibes.com/static.p... (select the “Unsubscription” category to make us get it down faster + add “Attention : Lolita”).

  133. #133 | Samy | May 28th, 2009 at 17:53

@Frank we are looking at it (and managed to reproduce this issue). Can you send details to http://www.netvibes.com/static.p... ? It will help us a lot.

  134. #134 | Acai | May 28th, 2009 at 19:41

Wow! This feature is so good, but doesn’t working this morning, waiting for………

  135. #135 | Trumbi | May 28th, 2009 at 19:50

This will be on one good way to try out new themes without losing your custom page settings

  136. #136 | fraNcesco | May 28th, 2009 at 22:09

I have two pages…when I switch from page 1 to 2 , it’s all ok. But when I go back to page 1 , the theme is wrong , with invisible chars…etc..

    in details:
when the called url is :
    http://www.netvibes.com/privatep...
    the result is wrong
    when the called url is:
    http://www.netvibes.com/#General...
    the result is perfect

  137. #137 | Michel | May 29th, 2009 at 00:11

    Solution found!

I had a problem with only two or three of my previous four colums showing properly. It turned out all the content actually was on the screen, but it was all waaay below the other stuff.

So, it seems that the upgrade had made my settings change, and what did the trick was to edit layout under the first tab back to 4 boxes, 4 columns.

@Samy: Thanks for your suggestions, unfortunately the recovery URLs didn’t do the trick. Neither did clearing the cache and stuff either.

Anyway: I am up and running again as normal. Think there is potential to improve on your upgrade processes, things seem to be screwed up unecessarily.

  138. #138 | Kevin S. | May 29th, 2009 at 04:34

Has anyone figured out if there is a way to access or quickly switch between your multiple pages on a mobile device? I guess I could make a default page that contains all my feeds, just like before multiple pages were added. Would love to get some feedback here.

  139. #139 | wassi | May 29th, 2009 at 09:01

since the update, the RSS-Feed of my public activities would not be updated anymore. Could someone give me a hint?

  141. #141 | ceziceu | May 31st, 2009 at 11:12

today is 31 may and i can’t acces netvibes ’cause of the "update" message on the screen. yestarday i saw the multiple pages feature enabled, so, what’s up now with this error?

  142. #142 | شات | June 1st, 2009 at 05:43

But that’s really a great improvement i.e. that way you could have a page for personal life and another for work. And that’s not something you could do so far

  143. #143 | Theo | June 1st, 2009 at 09:57

Wasn’t sure at first but it now means i can drop my news reader and bring all my feeds back into netvibes now they’re not going to run into three rows of tabs! happy days

#This upgrade takes hell lot of time…

    Totally agree

  145. #145 | gobo | June 3rd, 2009 at 15:17

The one disadvantage netvibes has compared to igoogle is that it loads very slow.

  146. #146 | Nanou | June 3rd, 2009 at 16:27

I thought the idea was great.

However, I would have loved to be able to move the tabs I already have to the new pages created. It does not seem to work…

Is it acually supposed to work?

  147. #147 | robson | June 3rd, 2009 at 16:33

I liked it very much ! Congrats for always surprise us with good ideas.

I only dont like the add content button, it´s so complex and not so much user-friendly!

    keep the good work guys!

    tks

  148. #148 | Cliff Spicer | June 3rd, 2009 at 17:17

This is an awesome additional and I am looking forward to using it and testing out how it works for me. I think Netvibes is an incredible dashboard and the best one of its kind. I can really appreciate how you are updating the site and making it better all the time.

    Keep up the great work,

    Cliff

Is this also possible for the public pages, i mean more tabs? If it is, I’m really happy

  150. #150 | Quikboy | June 3rd, 2009 at 20:10

It would be really neat if we could replace the Google search box, with a search engine box of our own choice. Like Bing?

  151. #151 | Mel Gibson | June 4th, 2009 at 06:11

Netvibes is very creative and I use my public site to publish interesting links. So, it would be much more useful to have the chance to add pages also to my public site.

  152. #152 | Adriana | June 5th, 2009 at 07:31

WOW I am astounded at many of the disgustingly rude comments I read on here. All people do is bitch and moan and talke about how it’s no big deal, no important feature, fix this, fix that. People grow up. Learn to appreciate things. To thank people for what they do. You act as if you paid for this. It’s free. What a sad group. Dispicable.

  153. #153 | Regcure license key | June 9th, 2009 at 13:49

Congrats – this is awesome! I’ve been a user for several years now – managing both my digital work life and personal life through the netvibes-portal. This upgrade is really useful for me.

  155. #155 | Yeast Infection | June 13th, 2009 at 08:07

I think it sounds cool, but not really sure I get the point.. multiple personalization will provide a good look to netvibes..

The next thing i climbed up the island and sat right in front of him . His eyes wide open and lips opened to say something and i was kissing him full mouth . He was struck for a sec but them his hands were on my hips and crunching my flesh , and was kissing me back . Our tongue’s met i sucked on his velvet flesh as if it was his dick . His hands were now pulling me closer to him . My legs were on his either side he was btw . We broke our kiss and he was looking and me with wanting eyes i straightene and pulled open my shrug and undid my bra and pulled it apart slowly freeing my now swollen breast and hard tits right in front of his face . I took his hands and placed it on my breast . He slowly caressed them and played with my tits slowly nibbling and sucking on them . His hands were running all over my back and hips and thighs and sometimes groping on my back . My hands were behind his neck pulling it towards my breasts . . www9.kinghost.com/lesbian…

The rest of the drive was rather bland. We pulled up to the house that had a handful of people sleeping on the lawn. After saying my goodbyes, I trudged through the cans and bottles until I found Sherry. She really did amaze me: she still had that dick in her ass. Avoiding that mess, I located all of her clothing before dragging her off of the captain of our football team. www9.kinghost.com/lesbian…
