Let’s clean up our feed list !
Since our launch on September 15, there was no option to manage the user feed list and for some of us it’s a little mess right now in there. Today you’ll be able to clean everything up, the new functionnality is live and working ! Here is a preview :

How it works : simply “mouse over” the blue arrow of each feed or folder, a menu with options shows up. With folders you’ll be able to “rename” and “delete”. With Feeds, you’ll be able to “rename”, “delete” and “move”. This last option let you move a feed to an existing folder or within a new folder.
Let us know how intuitive and easy you think it is, we would like to have your feedback on this.
PS : This feature is the inline/quick way of managing your feed list, we may come up later with another way of managing the feeds, an advanced mode for advanced users.

Great! I imported a large messy OPML the other day and needed this fix badly.
thanks,

At a time where Google is releasing its "Reader" (how did they dare releasing such a crap app?), I can only say: well done guys, keep the low profile, do the good job, and don’t worry, users will realise that a small unknown startup can compete with the well-established giants….
Congrats !

The people have spoken, and Netvibes has listened! There is hope after all!
Seriously though, it just keeps getting better. Nice update.

Nice to see a site that actually listens to the demands of users in a timely manner. Those updates were pretty quick in the tech world, kudos to you, you’ve officially won me over the alternatives (yahoo, google, msn, goowy)

Netvibes is the perfect home page and it’s getting better. Thanks a lot, very good job.

I am pleased to have these features. I would just want to ask you guys here how I could create a folder without using OPML (which is how I get some working right now).

@itsnotvalid
You need to start from a feed added and "move" it to a new folder, just select "new category" in the list. You’ll then be able to rename your newly created category

Now it’s the best home page, ever!
Very good job!

Netvibes e google reader
Eu sei que ja postaram sobre isso aqui, mas ou fã de rss e vibro com cada novidade. Seguem abaixo as minhas primeiras impressões sobre o google reader. O mais importante: suporte OPML. Nesta briga de readers online, quem ganha…

@Florent
Thanks for answering my question. I would remember that.

The only complaint I’d have about this new feature is that the module Rename/Delete/Move is sticky and it does not disappear once the mouse moves away. Even a click someplace else on the page does not do anything. Great site!! Are you going to implement an expandable folder of all feeds that can also be added on the main page? I have about 100 feeds in my list, I cannot add them all in this configuration. Or maybe I am missing something?
#15 | brent | October 24th, 2005 at 17:14
This may be a stupid question, but how does one add a folder?
#16 | brent | October 24th, 2005 at 17:23
Also, a fantastic feature would be the ability to subscribe to secure feeds (like 37 Signals’ Basecamp).

figured out the folders thing. it was a stupid question, as it turns out.

How do I delete all the feeds under MyFeeds section at once…
#19 | novak | February 27th, 2006 at 21:59
hi, i’d like to follow up on the quesition #14 – are you going to allow the secure feeds subscriptions?
I am hoping to roll out the nevibes as the default homepage for the department, we also heavily use the basecamp and we would like to include its feed!
#20 | Bruno | June 10th, 2006 at 18:11
"myfeed" does not show all the feeds I have. How can I delete them then?
#21 | Steve Severance | November 11th, 2006 at 10:24
Count me in as voting for secure feeds. My industry vertical (healthcare) does not seem to recognize the value of open content and many RSS feeds are protected by user accounts.
