Internet Explorer: How To Ensure Optimum Performance With Netvibes

Right now, if you’re lucky, you’re probably enjoying some sun, far away from work. You’re also probably enjoying your Netvibes dashboard on your own laptop or mobile, using the latest updated version of your favorite browser. Unfortunately, when the holiday is over and you’re back at your workplace, you won’t necessary have the same liberty of choice and might not have the latest version installed.

Which you could be a problem, especially if you’re forced to use an earlier version of Internet Explorer: you will not get all the latest Javascript improvements required for Netvibes to function properly.

Fortunately, there’s a simple solution to this issue: install the extension Google Chrome Frame for Internet Explorer.

  1. Go to http://www.google.com/chromeframe
  2. Click “Install extension” and follow the instructions
  3. That’s it!

No need to reboot your machine, simply restart your browser. The extension will be instantly active and will allow you to fully enjoy your dashboard, as well as modern web sites using HTML5 and CSS3.

That actually makes no sense at all. Who want HTML5 on Internet Explorer’s old versions? Use Firefox, CometBird or SRWare Iron instead!
