iCal module update

Last week, we received a lot of feedback messages about a bug in the iCal viewer : Past events were still diplayed in the agenda view. Hopefully, this bug is now fixed and we’re also adding a new option to this module: timezone support.

You can now change the timezone of your iCal viewer if your events are not displayed at the right time.

Changing iCal timezone

Thanks a lot to all users for their feedback and especially Inbal, Jeff Staple and all the Netvibers who replied our message on the blog.

enjoy

Speaking of feedback, just a quick comment. I’m not exactly sure when it started happening, but I think around the time that Meebo support began last week, the "Esc" key trick to close a window was lost. Any update on when that might return?

Hey Jim: Keyboard support is now an optional feature. Turn it on under settings again, then the Esc functionality will return.

Instead of using "Nb events", I’d prefer to see a duration of time into the future that the shown events would fall within. ("1 day", "2 days", "3 days", "1 week" "2 weeks" "3 weeks" "1 month" "2 months" "3 months", "all") So that I could see what I have to do over the next 2 weeks, and if there’s not much shown, then I know I don’t have much coming up.

I’ve been waiting for the Timezone correction feature. :D I think I have sent several feedbacks regarding this. Thanks!

    Thanks again Netvibes!!!

Thanks for Netvibes, dear NetVibes team. It has become the first site I visit in the morning, and the one which is all-day open in my browser. I have not seen the place where I can post a suggestion on the site, sorry for posting this idea here…
As it is possible to unread an entire list of articles for a given subscription feed, a nice feature would be to allow the fact to unread a single post for a RSS feed. The system I am using right now is to read all the articles, then unread all and then read them again, except the one I am willing to let unread.
Sorry if this suggestion has already been made.

Netvibes is great! Thanks for the update with the iCal Feature. I can now use the Agenda again! :) Thanks again.

Cheers guys, this is a very nice module.
    I have one comment.
I have a couple of recurring events on my Google Calendar and when I delete some single occurences in GCal they still show up in the iCal module.

  15. #15 | Amnesia | August 3rd, 2006 at 13:51

Hmmm… sorry to be a bit negative, but the silence on forum comments and bug posts from Netvibes on this issue has been deafening!

But thanks Netvibes, anyway. It’s still a great piece of work.

There’s still a problem I have with Google calendar on the iCal module, as not all events show. It’s a bit random, but some of my all day events appear, some do not.

  16. #16 | Andrew | August 5th, 2006 at 06:14

For some reason, my GCal shows the wrong days. Everything appears one day earlier than it should be. I tried messing with the timezones, but that won’t do it. Any idea?

  17. #17 | Sinaptik | August 6th, 2006 at 00:04

The iCal module seems to be the most bugged one !
And the fact we haven’t any comments from Netvibes team is frustrating. :(

We are so many (I think) waiting a completely working iCal module, please guys, let us know if you’re planning to fix it and at least if the team is aware about the problems. :)

    Thanks a lot !

    hi guys,
I’m new to netvibes, so I tried to play around. I search some time on the web to undrestand how to make ical running (not very self explanatory + no "howto" anywhere … as it seems).I figured out I had to open an account on 30Boxes, then go to the syndication page and copy the "iCal Subscription" link to the requested url in the ical module. Ok, it doesn’t work.I tried a lot of things, and stil "No future events found". It becomes a bit frustrating. Does someone has a "working" experience of the ical module with 30boxes and could help me out ?
    Thanx
    Gil

The first time I tried to use, there was a problem in GMNT -4, but now I think it is fixed.

    =)

I’ve got a bug…. for all of my events from my google calendar, the time is displayed, for example, from 10:00am to 10:00am, when really it is supposed to go from 10 till 11

  21. #21 | Logan | August 10th, 2006 at 14:06

The fact we haven’t any comments from Netvibes team is frustrating. :(

  22. #22 | François | August 10th, 2006 at 14:36

Adam, can you send us a feedback with your ical links? It would help us to reproduce your problem.

Hey Jim: Keyboard support is now an optional feature. Turn it on under settings again, then the Esc functionality will return.

  24. #24 | Gil | August 16th, 2006 at 22:56

ok, there is apparently no 30boxes users … sad !

Another question then in order to find other ways to tackle the problem: as I said, After I copied the url in the ical module, it claims "No future events found" despite all the events present. But is it normal that the "nb of event", "first day of the week" and "correct timezone" fields list no choice at all for an event-free calendar?

  25. #25 | XBoy | August 24th, 2006 at 10:00

Can this module support multi iCal files in Single Calendar in the future? I suppose it will be more userful

  26. #26 | Renaud | August 29th, 2006 at 14:53

I would like to use few iCal feed in a single iCal module fot netvibes.

  27. #27 | OJ | August 30th, 2006 at 13:03

Is it possible to also show "location" i ical module?

  28. #28 | Yannick | August 31st, 2006 at 11:38

For me, the events that repeat yearly are only displayed on the day they begin and not the following occurences.

  29. #29 | Michael | September 14th, 2006 at 22:15

I’d love t see passwords supported with the ical module.

I do not agree. Go to http://www.bbhotelhome.info/obse...

I second the request for password support. I’m not interested in publishing my calendars for everyone to see, but iCal makes it possible to subscribe to protected calendars, so it would be nice if NetVibes did too.

    Hello, I noticed a bug :

I have events that repeat in my ICS calendar (they begin from 2006 and end in 2007).
The 2006 events are displayed but not the 2007 events !!!

    Thanks in advance.

  33. #33 | jive | November 21st, 2006 at 22:38

I would also like to see the ability to add multiple ical feeds to the same calendar. So if you have multiple google calendars, all of them would display if you added all of their feeds. (and if possible, the ability to designate the event boxes a specific color)

    Love this module!
