High Five, Netvibes!

Today, I’m proud to announce that Netvibes is turning five–and even prouder to share that we’re growing faster than ever. Not only are we profitable, we’re on track to grow 80% in revenue this year.

As you know, five years are five lifetimes in startup years. Out of all of the industries on this planet, the Web is the most ferocious and fastest changing environment in the history of business. But what’s important is not which species go extinct along the way, but rather what new forms they have evolved into and where they are evolving tomorrow.

We believe Netvibes has survived because our evolution is in rhythm with the entire Web. Our product has evolved from a simple startpage into the ultimate tool to “dashboard everything”. We’ve combined the best technologies from around the Web–from real-time RSS to Twitter to widgets to the iPad and beyond. As the super glue for everything that matters to you, we have created the most universal (UWA), most comfortable (unique dual widget+reader views, mobile syncing), most flexible (unlimited dashboards, unrestricted personalization) and most Enterprise ready (ACL, Netvibes Premium Dashboard Manager, Push Publishing) dashboard publishing platform to manage and monitor everything that matters to you.

The fact that Netvibes continues to grow, especially among professional users, agencies and enterprises, proves that we’re continuing to evolve in the right direction. Our latest innovation is to evolve instantly to match the exact needs of each user via our 1-Click Dashboard Engine, which can automatically create a smart dashboard for you, built around any topic.

NetvibesWe believe that people need more than just new technologies, we need dashboards to manage it all and monitor it all. As a business, we’ve not only created the technology to enable this, but also the services to help you have it all, from design to widget development, custom features, consulting, training, hosting and implementation. We want to make Netvibes the ultimate technology and service provider for every user, every brand and every enterprise that needs to manage and monitor it all.

I started by saying that we made it and the truth is, we made it because of all of you. We didn’t evolve simply to keep pace with the Web. We succeeded by evolving to keep pace with you, your needs and the way you work. And this is the way we’ll continue to evolve into the future.

Stay tuned.
Freddy – Netvibes CEO

When some posts show up in Netvibes with up 4 to 10 hours delays, it seems a bit preposterous to boast about “real-time RSS” ;-)

I moved away from Netvibes because it became pretty slow and cumbersome to use. I started using Bloglines. Bloglines has recently shut down and I’ve found my way back to Netvibes. It’s still slow and cumbersome to use.

I refuse to go with Google Reader, so I’m sticking with Netvibes. Maybe before your 6th birthday you should focus on optimising the site and making it as lightning fast as possible.

PS: Happy Birthday! You’ve done well.

@patrice, please let support[at]netvibes[dot]com know of the feeds you have a problem with

@coxy, please can you detail/explain why you think Netvibes is cumbersome?

Thanks a lot. Appreciate your feedback

I agree with coxy, you’re doing all this wonderful stuff, and belive me, it is appreciated, but it’s so slow.
I found that if I load my netvibe widgets on iGoogle they work fine and the page loads in a couple of seconds instead of 10 or more seconds on Netvibes.
I would rather use Netvibes than iGoogle, and I will keep on checking once in a while, but until you can speed things up, I’ll have to stay with Google.
