New icons and updated Magazine-like layouts

Yesterday, we have made a small update that some of you noticed.

First, we have made the tab options more discoverable with an explicit “Edit” link. This change helps novice users know what they can do with their page. However, we know that most experienced users prefer to cram as much information as possible in their page. That’s why we’ve added a new option to switch between text and icons. Located in the Settings panel, it will affect actions on both tabs and widgets.

Actions displayed with text or icons

Then, on popular demand, we have added the possibility to adjust the magazine-like layouts we introduced in December. It makes the feature even more powerful and flexible.

That’s all for this minor update. But stay tuned, we have more cool stuff coming in the next weeks!

    Having criticized the social-networking-type updates, I must say that the last couple rounds of updates have been needed and well-done improvements.

    I switched back to the icons but the share and edit icons are not showing up.

    Nice thanks. How about making the same for the giant ADD CONTENT button?

    Nice update- thanks for listening.

    BTW, can someone ban the guy who keeps duplicating posts and linking to his lame site? It shouldn’t be hard, since it’s always the same domain.

    Thank you very much for adding this feature. I noticed that the Share and Edit links for the modules are gone too but they seem to display the wrong icon. Could you fix that.

    Keep it up, nice work!

    In addition to the post: It seems like this is connected with custom themes.

    @Erica

    Same for me. Share and Edit icons don’t show up. If you change themes and refresh they do but next load they go away. I tried it using both Firefox v3.0.5 and IE v7.x.
