Yes. I was waiting for this. I almost considered straying to the google start page when they unveiled their huge number of user-created modules, but I knew deep in my heart that Netvibes would someday return with levels of innovation and web 2.0ness that would make it still better than anything else out there!
I am so signing up.
#3 | peekj | March 3rd, 2006 at 21:56
Great, I’m signing up as well.

#9 | Phil | March 4th, 2006 at 15:56
Quand j essaye les exemples que vous fournissez, par exemple http://www.netvibes.com/api/0.2/... le titre du module s’affiche bien (hello world) mais dans le corps du module j’ai "undefined" qui est affiché au lieu de "Hello world !"
#10 | Reinier | March 4th, 2006 at 18:59
nice!!!
#11 | Mark Wheeler | March 4th, 2006 at 23:23
The iCal viewer available on the preview site is looking pretty cool too, hope that makes the main site soon.
#12 | peekj | March 5th, 2006 at 00:20

#13 | Tariq KRIM | March 5th, 2006 at 01:51

#14 | Joshua Morgan | March 5th, 2006 at 03:28
Ooh, from having a look at the JavaScript source, we can expect change password functionality soon, as well as the ability to edit your ‘profile’ (full name, email, country)
#15 | Sandra | March 5th, 2006 at 08:57
I don’t want to build any modules but I’d sure like to see what other users build–will there be a list somewhere?
#16 | Dr-Hamza | March 5th, 2006 at 10:30
Users Making Modules …. Perfect ….
i think Netvibs.com `ll be more powerfull in matter of months …. Slide-show , Send to , Mail to friend , Media player , contact list , export Contact List to *.xls file , Categorise the feeds " tech, medcine , graphic ,blogs ….." , Write to blog like WordPress or dotclear , Skype calling Contact and calling mod , yahoo status , Wikipedea Markers "some people fan of wikipeda as readers , so can them mark Articles they read?" ,Podcasting ,Calender ………..etc.
And Doc Writer .."u can use http://www.fckeditor.net/ or tinymce.moxiecode.com/ " and exporting the docu as *.doc file …
Netvibes as Firefox Extension. "2do , Note , Contact List , Book Marking , add Life link "Rss , ato. "
Have to back to work ;(
Thanx for the gift NetVibes.com API

#20 | ben colon | March 6th, 2006 at 14:52
GREAT JOB !
It offers a lot of possibilities …
#21 | Vasco | March 6th, 2006 at 16:26
miniAPI – Good work! Simple, clean and neat! (Did you realise that almost anybody can make an html page? so almost anyone can make modules which is great!- but not anyone know how to host a page, but that is simple also.) Now I whould sugest you to develop "Inter-Module" utilities, which will bring netvibes to very forward step. "Inter-Module" utilities like draging from bookmarks to delicious and feeds and from calendar to todo and something like that.
#22 | Johannes | March 6th, 2006 at 18:11
I thought it could be nice to have a wiki page, where I can announce my very first netvibes module! The list doesn’t seem to be very active!?
wiki.netvibes.com/doku.ph…
By the way, it would be nice to import an *.js file as easy as *.xhtml files! Or loading scripts from <script> tags! See my EvalScript module: wiki.netvibes.com/doku.ph…
#23 | Marc | March 6th, 2006 at 18:52
Thanks for the "coming soon" NetVibes.com API
#24 | Mark | March 7th, 2006 at 03:17
I think I speak for many when I say this:
So long, Live.com!
#25 | Lolo | March 7th, 2006 at 11:11
I think I speak for many when I answer this:
Please, multiple pages using tabs
please
I’m making a very big effort for not changing from netvibes to other apps, like pageflakes. I love Netvibes but I think you can’t delay this feature for more time.
Thanks!
#26 | Aziz | March 7th, 2006 at 18:11
I just wanted to second Lolo
#27 | Willy | March 7th, 2006 at 19:55
I sent a message to the address above and did not receive a response. Am I doing something wrong? Really looking forward to checking this out.
#28 | Joshua Morgan | March 8th, 2006 at 08:04
You can view the documentation by going here: http://www.netvibes.com/document... and you can join the list by going here: lists.netvibes.com/listin…
#29 | Rajiv | March 8th, 2006 at 09:55
i’m looking for something that might help me in creating an item on the netvibes page and then display it somewhere else.
#30 | nospam | March 8th, 2006 at 11:12
#31 | Pierre | March 8th, 2006 at 13:20
I’ve had a look at the examples, looks promising… but how do you add them to the page ?!?
#32 | txd | March 8th, 2006 at 18:07
this is quite annoying – the API is out, there are examples in WIKI already, but __HOW__ do you add a custom module to your netvibes page?? I checked in the WIKI, API tutorial, API documentation, this blog, the available [+add content] elements but nothing anywhere tells me how to add the examples to the real netvibes page!!!
Please someone just poke to where the info is and call me stupid.
#33 | Joshua Morgan | March 8th, 2006 at 18:20
This functionality is only available on Netvibes ‘Preview’, point your browser to preview.netvibes.com. Then click ‘Add content’ and select ‘Mini API’, then click Edit from the module preview, enter the URL in the URL feed, and finally add to your page.
#34 | Nicolas | March 8th, 2006 at 18:20
See on the initial thread :
"If you are a developer and want to build your own mini module on netvibes, you can join our api mailing list by sending us a request at netvibes_api @ netvibes.Com"
You just have to send an email, and wait for an answer.
A test URL will be sent, and with you’ll be able to insert your module…
Can i call u stupid mate? ;o)
#35 | Nicolas | March 8th, 2006 at 18:21
Joshua,
I guess the preview URL was private stuff, is that public now?
Nicolas
#36 | Joshua Morgan | March 8th, 2006 at 18:30
It was sent in that email from netvibes_api@netvibes.com, but I don’t see any reason why it should be kept secret. I don’t think that netvibes_api@netvibes.com address is currently working, because quite a few have complained that they aren’t receiving any details. I received a reply almost right after the blog entry, but I sent an email to netvibes_api@netvibes.com as soon as I had read the first blog entry about ‘being interested in the development of an API’.
#37 | txd | March 8th, 2006 at 18:32
Ok, thanks and call me stupid,
I couldn’t find the link to the preview page!
Now to create some nice modules
#38 | Joshua Morgan | March 8th, 2006 at 18:38
That’s fine that you couldn’t find it anywhere as it hasn’t been mentioned except in the email.
#39 | Gtox | March 8th, 2006 at 23:00

#43 | Gtox | March 9th, 2006 at 19:40
You just changed that thing in the UI when you go over the title of the feed/box that it changes, didn’t you? (don’t know if i’m making sense). That collapse arrow (dis)appears on mouse-over is what i’m trying to say. please change it back, it’s very annoying when you want to click the number of unread items (to ‘read all’). Pleeeaasse change it back.
#44 | peroquepaaasa | March 9th, 2006 at 19:49
