Nowadays a lot of social networks revolve around sharing pictures, like Flickr or Instagram for instance. A couple of weeks ago, we brought the whole Netvibes experience to our iPad users in a move towards a unified experience. Now seems like a good time to demonstrate the power of our dashboards with one simple visual example.
And what better way to do so than with adding an Instagram photostream in Netvibes?
It’s easy!
- Create: Add Content > Add a Feed
- Paste: http://instagr.am/tags/[any tag]/feed/recent.rss
- Edit: Change [any tag] into whatever tag you want to search for
Voila! You’re done. Now the fun part is viewing it. You can switch your new Instagram feed app into Magazine View (click the little gear icon).

Or you can also view everything in Reader View by selecting your new Instagram feed app (or a whole Tab just filled with Instagram feeds) and switching to Mosaic display.

Want even more photos? Try it out with other photostreams (like Flickr or Picasa) or even with regular news sites that make use of nice image enclosures (like Yahoo Sports, Joystiq or GigaOM to name but a few).

I hope we get some nice new themes for the webversion too… they start to look pretty childish and outdated…
