A Dashboard Engine to Dashboard Everything. Easier and Faster.

A few weeks ago we changed our tagline to “Dashboard Everything” as our answer to the real-time Web.
Today we are very excited to launch the world’s first dashboard engine.

This new User eXperience reinvents real-time search by letting users simply enter in a topic keyword to instantly create fully featured, smart dashboards that automatically track all of the latest photos, videos, news, feeds, search results and Twitter conversations around that topic.
With the acceleration of the real-time Web, people are looking for a way to monitor and keep up-to-date on everything about topics that matter to them, without having to dig through an endless list of yesterday’s search engine results.

Just as a word processor allows people to generate as many documents as they want, Netvibes allows them to create an unlimited number of dashboards to monitor and keep track of everything in their digital lives. Users can dashboard everything in just a single click, save as many different instant dashboards as they like, and share them with friends. It’s a whole new way to instantly monitor and track sports teams, businesses, competitors, celebrities, political issues or the latest trending topics without having to dig through search results and browse from site to site.
It’s not a search engine, it’s a dashboard engine.
You have 2 ways to access this:
- as a new user who never came to Netvibes: never mind, it’ll be the first page you’ll see
- already a user? Just use the dropdown menu “Dashboard” / “New”

A sort of request for improvement:
Is it possible to hide ‘Dashboards’ switch from the top bar?
The problem lies in ergonomics: with tabbed UI after switching to netvibes tab and instinctively moving mouse pointer downwards, this crazy switch gets in the way and pops up making it easy to click on ‘Manage’ unintentionally, for example.
Maybe just making it pop up after click, not just after hover?

Seems slower than the old Netvibes. And buggy. It now shows “There is no news in this feed” for an RSS feed that it used to show perfectly.

For me, it feels slower, too. Despite that, I think, the new release is much more comfortable, so thank you guys for this update!

Wasabi is a shame, for sure.
Netvibes was my start page, but after I upgraded all my feeds are crap. The whole stuff is really slow, but the most serious problem is that my feeds don’t get updated. Just in some cases I reload the whole page.
Why don’t you call it beta??
Is there any way to downgrade?

I’m guessing the feed update problem (6+ months old) will get taken sometime after the spam comments.

This a great improvement. Thanks for the effort. Is there anyway to have an iPad app for these dashboard engines in the future?
